I've been playing my bass a lot more lately and this little line got stuck in my system. I've been wanting to write something on the sensual side and nothing is sexier than a good bassline ;)

I wrote this song for my sister. She was going through a very difficult time and I was thinking of her home in Maui as a beautiful place to recuperate. The song is a reminder that we're never far from Heaven's eye and the sweet comfort and inspiration of being close to nature. She's an incredible woman and I couldn't be prouder! I love you sister! ALOHA!

that's why theres so many factors and so many deal-breakers so many sifting through heartache and fakers "the best of of getting it's letting it go" so say the people who know shutup, you don't really know sometimes you need to be held like a child and told that "you're fine" and "you're safe" and "you're mine" sometimes you need to be kissed deep and wild and thrown to the wall as you're preciously riled up and cradled down ...but the arms aren't found these are symptoms of something that's "right" and even a majority still merits a fight "she will be right for me" that's all he's got and she's got a long list of things that he's not and some say it's all about "knowing yourself" God, will you guide me to one that is right for me right for him right for them give us a home so we won't be alone cuz with so many factors and so many deal-breakers.. I just can't navigate this on my own... tell me I won't be alone please God, don't leave me alone say that someday I'll smile lookin' back at the mess in my pretty white dress and my lover true send me someone who totally fits me and doesn't break deals crazy and about him and everything's real someone with whom I can finally let go and we'll be the people who know we are the people who know |

Let's Die Together...
Once I was in a carpool for an ongoing gig, and the only one of us that owned a car also had his stunt driver's license and absolutely zero self-control. Every time we made that trip, at some point one or all of us would end up screaming, "WE'RE GONNA DIE!". On one such occasion when we all screeched out our fears of death, immediately afterward someone lovingly said, "Let's Die Together!" I immediately thought, "wow...let's die together." In what situation would you ever use that combination of words? "Let's Die Together"?? I was amazed by the phrase and promised everyone in the car that I would write a song using it.
